The Vision....

Go Ye Air Service, Inc.

While still in the USAF, I had a "vision" of an airline-style company with a particular aircraft (a Grumman G-1 turboprop) to begin this effort. Although I still had a few years left in my military career, I was willing to be obedient if this was real and that is what He wanted. The first item was to check if this vision was something real as I had never experienced something so real and "out of the box"..

Thanks to Loran Cunningham, founder of Youth With A Mission, it was determined to be a real event. With that and support of my family, we began the odyssey of Go Ye Air Service.

Since settling in Oregon after 20 years as a fighter pilot Go Ye Air Service has been incorporated, granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status (a first in the Air Transportation industry) and begun to raise funds for the work to come. There have been detours, frustrations, and many learning lessons along the way.

Through it all, the Lord Jesus Christ has been faithful to keep the vision very much alive and moving forward.

Our mission goals are fourfold:

1. Go into all the world with air transportation service to the worldwide body of Christ,

2. Provide low cost air transportation to places not served by commercial aircraft,

3. To be a mentor and experience builder for young Christians entering commercial aviation, and

4. To be a source of air transportation for emergency relief efforts when needed.

To date, a large hanger has been built to house the aircraft to come, steps taken toward obtaining the necessary certificates to operate worldwide, and experience gained through continued currency in other aircraft. Over the years many items necessary have come into clearer focus as well as identifing many of the pitfalls to avoid.
